The painting Recuerdos familiars (Family Memories) summarizes the terror that remembering something inexpressible provokes. The fleeting sensation that crosses through the memory without reason being able to register it with precision. Volatile evocations that find a way out on the canvas. A man wearing a wedding ring, with a malevolent expression, observes remainders of food and several utensils gravitate in space. The light penetrates the room and lights up the inanimate objects that take on movement and seem to be taken from Flemish still-life painting.
