La vegetazione verde densa circonda una banda di massi appassiti dal sole che si snodano poco a poco in questa pittura orizzontale. Proprio alla nostra sinistra del centro e sul nostro lato dei massi sono diversi tronchi albero snello. La zona al di là dei massicci è una foschia di muschio e verde pino. I tronchi e le rocce dell'albero sono dipinte in toni di sable, arachidi, sabbia e marrone scuro. L’artista ha firmato la sinistra inferiore, “COROT. ”
