L'Ambasciatore Cornelis Calkoen passa attraverso il secondo cortile del palazzo, dove si svolge un pasto del Janitsaren, andando al pubblico al sultano Ahmed III, 14 settembre 1727. Al fronte della processione sono due ministri con cappelli alti e barre d'argento, seguiti dagli interpreti, dall'ambasciatore e dal suo follow-up. Sullo sfondo, i janitos stanno versando sui piatti di riso. Parte di una serie di dipinti con soggetti turchi portati dalla Turchia ai Paesi Bassi dall'ambasciatore Cornelis Calkoen e dal cugino Nicolaas nel 1817 presso il Consiglio Esecutivo del Levantsche Handel di Amsterdam.
