Jean Bero's Gemälde "An Evening (Une soirée)" von 1878 war in der Sammlung von Jacques Kulp in 1936 (Balny d'Avricourt Sammlung), dann im öffentlichen Verkauf, New York, Sotheby's, 23. Mai 1990, No 73 (ausverkauft und nach Frankreich zurückgebracht). 1994 wurde das Gemälde von den Nationalen Museen als freier Transfer von der General Administration of Customs and Indirect Duties ( 7. März 1991 und 5. Mai 1993) angenommen. Am 23. Juni 1994 wurde das Gemälde verhaftet und dann dem Musée d'Orsay in Paris zugeschrieben. Das originale Gemälde ist mit Öl auf Leinwand gemacht und hat Abmessungen: Höhe - 65,0 cm, Breite - 117,0 cm, mit Rahmen: Höhe - 100 cm, Breite - 151.3 cm.
