Fan with tortoiseshell sticks, one guard set a with gilt monogram. The double canepin leaf is painted on the recto with riders and carriages promenading in the Bois de Boulogne, social activity of great importance in late-Nineteenth Century Paris; signed and dated Ch. Detaille, 1880. The verso is painted with a large monogram.Detaille, Jean Baptiste Charles (French, 1852-1894) Painter who exhibited works at the Paris Salons and specialised in equestrian subjects.
