Il nome della marchesa e la data sono iscritti sulla barella. Nel 1744, anno in cui si sedette per Nattier, si sposò a Parigi con François Achard Joumard Tison d'Argence (1719–1781), che scese da diverse famiglie di grande antichità ad Angoulême e Périgueux. In questo ritratto formale, frontale il giovane sitter indossa un corpetto appuntito con pizzi e perle. Una lunghezza stravagante di tessuto taffeta-come è annodato al suo seno. Gli alberi, alcuni con rami senza foglie, sono insoliti per un ritratto in questo formato relativamente piccolo.
