Il Geografo è un dipinto creato dall'artista olandese Johannes Vermeer nel 1668-1669, ed è ora nella collezione del museo Städelsches Kunstinstitut a Francoforte sul Meno. Questo è uno dei soli tre dipinti firmati Vermeer e datati (gli altri due sono The Astronomer e The Procuress). Il geografo, vestito in una veste in stile giapponese poi popolare tra gli studiosi, si mostra "qualcuno eccitato dall'inchiesta intellettuale", con la sua posizione attiva, la presenza di mappe, grafici, un globo e libri, così come i divisori che tiene nella sua mano destra, secondo Arthur Wheelock Jr. "L'energia in questo dipinto [...] è trasmessa più in particolare attraverso la posa della figura, la messa in massa di oggetti diagonali sul lato sinistro del dipinto [...]
