Frances, figlia di Peter Bold di Bold Hall, Prescot, sposò Fleetwood Hesketh nel 1759. Come un membro di una delle migliori famiglie del Lancashire che ha rivendicato un lignaggio da prima della conquista normanna, il suo ritratto è più formale di quello di suo marito. I dispositivi di balaustra e urn prestano l'impostazione di un'aria di grandiosità, ma soprattutto creano un solido quadro rettilineo per il disegno che è rinforzato dalla rettitudine della posa della signora Hesketh. Le evidenti difficoltà di Wright con la posa quasi-ma-non-quite-profile aggiungono sapore al carattere diretto, ma convenzionale e sobrio del lavoro.
