Este trabajo es un ejemplo de la maestría que Gris alcanza en el Cubismo Sintético. Este tipo de Cubismo comenzaría reduciendo la compartimentación y ampliando los fragmentos, y terminaría eliminandolos y dando una mirada unitaria y sintética a las figuras. Esto no significa que haya un retorno al naturalismo, porque los objetos se forman utilizando sus diferentes fragmentos, y a menudo hay desproporción entre las partes, asimetría y perspectivas diferentes.
