Léon Bonvin est né à Vaugirard, près de Paris en 1834. Malgré son grand talent en milieu d'aquarelle, il n'a pas été reconnu par ses contemporains. En 1866, il se pencha à 32 ans, apparemment en raison de difficultés financières. Travailler dans sa famille
