Un dessin de la tête d'une femme tourna les trois quarts à gauche, regardant en bas. Les cheveux sont fixés dans des tresses élaborées, et disposés en bobines sur les oreilles. C'est une étude pour la tête de Leda dans la peinture perdue de Leda et le Swan. Le mythique Leda a été séduit par Jupiter sous la forme d'un cygne. Leonardo a travaillé sur deux compositions du sujet, exécutant finalement une peinture qui a été détruite au 18ème siècle. Dans les quatre études survivantes de Leda
