Studi di cavalli pascoli, uno direttamente da dietro, con la testa visibile a sinistra delle gambe, e un altro da davanti, la sua testa oscurata dal primo. A sinistra un cavallo è disegnato nel profilo, anche se solo le gambe a destra sono inchiodate, e il faticoso punto metallico del resto dell'animale è quasi invisibile contro la preparazione marrone-grigio, colorato con piombo rosso mescolato con carbone di terra.
