Ce codex, appelé Traité de Fortification, Statics et Géométrie, est composé de deux parties très différentes. La première partie du manuscrit contient toute une gamme d'informations, allant du personnel au scientifique. La deuxième partie concerne principalement le moulage d'un cheval destiné à servir de monument à Francesco Sforza, l'ancien duc de Milan. C'était un projet immense, que da Vinci n'a jamais pu accomplir. Ce texte n'est qu'un résumé partiel.
