Andate in grande o tornate a casa – questo è il messaggio della scena di Luca Giordano. Rappresenta la bella Arianna che dorme come il suo amante fickle Theseus la abbandona (si può scorgere la sua nave navigando via in background). Vederla con l'acqua, il dio del vino Bacchus si precipita con il suo entourage per proclamare il suo amore. La corona di stelle sopra di loro predice il successo del suo gesto romantico; una volta bagnato, Bacchus metterà la corona nuziale di Ariadne nel cielo dove diventa la costellazione Corona Borealis.71.650
