Nato in una lunga linea di artisti, questo piacevole ritratto raffigura Luis e Alejandro Ferrant y Fischermans, nipoti del pittore e figliastri. Uno degli esempi più significativi del ritratto dei bambini romantici, questo dipinto è stato fatto da Luis Ferrant y Llausás, già considerato nel periodo Isabelline come un eccellente ritratto artista, che ha dimostrato la sua particolare sensibilità per i ritratti dei bambini in numerose occasioni. / I bambini sono esposti in un giardino, dove c’è un pilastrello con una struttura classica e sullo sfondo una fontana sormontata da una scultura di Cupido, entrambi i riferimenti probabilmente si dirigono alla formazione del pittore a Roma. La vegetazione è composta da mazzi di violette che, proprio come il cane, stabiliscono una serie di motivi simbolici intorno ai bambini.
