Peinté par Marco d-Oggiono, un proche associé de Leonardo da Vinci à Milan, cette image combine des éléments de portrait et d'allégorie. La femme richement habillée portant un sourire inscrutable est couronnée de lierre et tient un bol de cerises. Le sens est énigmatique: il peut faire allusion au mariage (ivy symbolisé la fidélité conjugale) mais suggère également un lien avec des cercles littéraires sophistiqués. D-Oggiono a construit une carrière réussie, d'abord en travaillant dans le style Leonardo et en faisant des copies après ses peintures, puis en rompant et en écrivant sa propre identité artistique.
