A quel tempo, il grande arco centrale che dava il via al Portico dall'esterno scomparve e fu sostituito da una doppia porta con un frontone curvo. Infine, tra gli anni 1738 e 1750 fu costruita l'attuale facciata barocca di Fernando de Casas, sostituendo quella del Maestro Mateo. Tuttavia, alcune vestigia della facciata esterna mancante sono conservate nel Museo Catedral, come la grande finestra di rosa, possibilmente appartenente a una delle porte laterali.
