The Leeuwarden Series: Adversaries of the RepublicFür Spinolas Biographie sehen Sie den Eintrag auf Van Mierevelts Porträt (SK-A-3953). Dieses Gemälde, das 1609 datiert ist, war der Prototyp für die gegenwärtige Arbeit. Im Gegensatz zu den früheren Katalogen des Rijksmuseums wird dieses geschäftige Porträt von Spinola nicht von Van Mierevelt unterschrieben; sein Name ist nur auf dem Panel beschriftet.
