Il monaco Myōe, fondatore del tempio di Kyoto Kōzanji, registrò i suoi sogni in un diario, lo Yume no ki. Il giorno nel 1225 a cui risale questo frammento doveva essere una cerimonia a Kōzanji per dedicare tre santuari a tre divinità—Byakkō (una divinità associata all'Himalaya), la Grande Deità Illuminante del Santuario di Kasuga (una divinità centrale del Santuario di Kasuga a Nara), e Zenmyō (una divinità femminile protettiva). Myōe riferisce che la cerimonia doveva essere rinviata a causa di un tifone e poi descrive due sogni in cui ha incontrato diversi individui che ha interpretato come le incarnazioni delle tre divinità.
