Die weiche, nasse Wäsche in dieser Landschaft signalisiert die Pinselarbeit von Mi Fu, einem berühmten Kalligraphen, Maler und Kenner der Northern Song Dynastie (960–1127). Siebenhundert Jahre nach seinem Tod wurde Mi in der Stadt Zhenjiang von Malern wie Pan Simu gefeiert, die dort eine regionale Schule der Malerei bauen wollten. Dieses Gemälde erklärte Stätte, Helin, war der Tempel, in dem Mi begraben wurde. Pan Witze in seiner Inschrift: „Wenn Mi Fu zurückkehren sollte, lachte er darüber und fragte sich: „Wer versucht, die Meditationen meiner Praxis zu pilgern?“
