Las jarras de café, utilizadas principalmente para el café turco, se distinguen de las ollas de café por sus brotes cortos fijados al cuerpo superior de la jarra. Este diseño hizo más fácil verter café turco; el líquido grueso y azucarado, lleno de sedimentos, tendió a obstruir brotes más largos y de bajo nivel. Paul de Lamerie, el fabricante de esta jarra de café, fue uno de los plateros más importantes del siglo XVIII en Londres. Nació en Holanda a los padres Huguenot que se mudaron a Londres en 1689.
