Das Portrait von Kazys Prapuolenis (1928), ein Kanon, von Petras Kalpokas (1880–1945) ist sowohl ornate als auch formal. Die Zeit, als das Porträt gemalt wurde, fällt mit der aktiven kreativen Periode im Leben des Künstlers zusammen. 1928 wurde eine große Einzelausstellung von Kalpokas inszeniert und der Katalog von Petras Kalpokas' Survey Exhibition von der litauischen Kunstgesellschaft veröffentlicht. Prapuolenis wird sehr repräsentativ dargestellt. Der Kanon, der erste nicht-formale Vertreter Litauens im Vatikan, der Forscher der litauischen Geschichte, der Publizist und der aktiven öffentlichen Figur, trägt einen Kassock und Staatspreis: das Kreuz des Ritters des Ordens des litauischen Großherzogs Gediminas und das Kreuz des Offiziers des Ordens Vytautas des Großen.
