Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta (1417-1468) était membre de la Maison de Malatesta, seigneur de Rimini, capitaine général de l'Église, condottiero, et patron des arts. Cette figure historique est célèbre pour sa trahison et ses critiques envers ses contemporains. Il a été excommunié par le pape Pie II, qui était jaloux de Malatesta.
