Qui, Saenredam ha dipinto una rappresentazione accurata del Mariakerk medievale a Utrecht. Era già in rovina nel XVII secolo e fu successivamente demolita. Saenredam aveva una preferenza per tali vecchi edifici, che ha documentato in disegni con grande precisione. Sul bordo della tenda, si può leggere che ha completato questo dipinto il 20 novembre 1659. Tuttavia, ha basato su un disegno che aveva fatto sul sito 23 anni prima, in estate.
