Este crucifijo pintado muestra a Cristo en ambos lados, vivo en uno y muerto en el otro. Está rodeado por la Virgen María, los santos y los evangelistas. La decoración de doble cara indica que este objeto estaba destinado a ser visto desde varios ángulos cuando se llevaba en procesiones o se mostraba durante la masa. Orioli pudo haberla pintado para la confraternidad franciscana de San Girolamo en Siena, que se unió en 1481.
