These two Dior silhouettes flirt with the codes of formal evening wear, and play with the elegant heritage of Dior: the ‘Bar Tailleur,’ referring to the famous 1947 New Look by Christian Dior, is turned into a smoking jacket with masculine tones. Likewise, what could have been a cocktail dress in iridescent organza was cut in half to become a wide top, worn with woolen shorts, that breaks with the conventions of long evening wear.
