Questo lavoro mostra la fregata spagnola Numancia, una delle prime al mondo ad essere alimentata da vapore e la prima nave blindata a circonvallare il mondo. La Numancia fu lanciata nel 1863 e divenne la spina dorsale della flotta spagnola nella guerra del Pacifico contro Perù e Cile. Come tutte le navi del periodo, era in uso solo per un breve periodo e affondato nel 1916 al largo della costa portoghese mentre veniva trainato per scrappage.
