L'une des plus importantes commissions pontificales de Raphael était les caricatures Raphael, une série de 10 caricatures, dont sept survivent, pour les tapisseries avec des scènes de la vie de saint Paul et de saint Pierre, pour la chapelle Sixtine. L'Épice miraculeuse des poissons, 1515, est l'un des sept cartons restants pour les tapisseries. Il fait maintenant partie de la collection du Musée Victoria et Albert.
