Ce portrait est un pendentif au Portrait d'un Homme (29.100.3). Si l'homme est Cornelis van Beresteyn, alors la femme doit être sa deuxième épouse, Corvina van Hofdyck (1602-1667). Sa pose, y compris les positions précises des mains (une tenant un fan d'autruche), répète celle de sa belle-mère telle que représentée par Jacob Willemsz. Delff en 1592. Les portraits de paires de Rembrandt semblent avoir été conformes dans le design à un ensemble dynastique de portraits qui étaient initialement accrochés dans la maison de famille Van Beresteyn à Delft.
