Jacob de Gheyn III, noto anche come Jacob III de Gheyn (1596–1641), era un incisore olandese dell'età d'oro, figlio di Jacob de Gheyn II, canone di Utrecht (città), e soggetto di un dipinto ad olio del 1632 di Rembrandt.Il ritratto è metà di un paio di ritratti pendenti. L'altro pezzo è un ritratto dell'amico di de Gheyn Maurits Huygens, indossando abiti simili (rappe e doppiette nere) e di fronte alla direzione opposta.
