Il monaco buddista Zen Sakugen Shūryō viaggiò in Cina due volte in missioni commerciali, nel 1541 e nel 1547, quando come capo inviato gli fu concesso un pubblico con l'imperatore Ming. Sakugen ha tenuto i resoconti dettagliati dei suoi viaggi e le iscrizioni trascritte su placche e compresse a siti famosi. Questa sezione dinamicamente spazzolata registra note sulle sorgenti di acqua celebrate nella regione di Jiangsu, che ha visitato durante il suo primo viaggio: “La sorgente chiamata Zhon Lingquan sul Monte Jin, nel cuore del fiume Yangzi, è chiamata la fonte numero uno di acqua sotto il cielo. Quello del tempio di Huishan al Jinlong Feng è considerato come numero due. Jianchi Pond al Tempio di Huqiu a Suzhou è il numero tre. ”
