Philip Adams was born in Brighton, Victoria, Australia in 1947 and has lived in Bung Bong, Central Victoria since 1972. He taught art at Maryborough Technical College for many years on a part time basis while pursuing his own career as a landscape artist. Adams is inspired by the landscape and explains:
