Le matin sur le château est dans la littérature sur le sujet habituellement appelé matin au pied de la colline Wawel, Planty Park avec une vue sur Wawel, ou Cracovie Planty Park. En regardant la peinture, il semble que son titre original Morning over the Castle lui ait donné un sens légèrement différent. Il a attiré l'attention non pas sur l'avenue vide avec des arbres, mais sur la majestueuse silhouette du château enveloppée à la lumière du jour levant.
