Cette peinture d'encre a été peinte par Tō Yōkoku (1760-1801), qui est né comme fils d'un médecin à Nagasaki. Certaines sources disent que son père était un médecin chinois, mais il n'y a aucune idée pour le prouver. Yōkoku était déjà bon dans la peinture en 20 ans et était célèbre dans la région de Tottori.
