这部手卷讲述了古代晋国公爵克热尔被放逐并恢复政权的故事. 受接班危机所驱使出家出走,清朝光绪十九年(公元前636年)出走后,在外邦寻求支持后成功回国出任晋国公爵. 虽然没有署名,这幅画被长期归功于宫廷画家李唐,他同时在南北宋画院任职. 该书法以高宗皇帝的作风为题写,可能由文人代表他作词.
