Das 1659 Gemälde befand sich bereits spätestens seit 1699 в den kurfürstlichen Sammlungen, im Berliner Schloss. Noch in der Zeit Friedrichs des Großen wurde es in der Bildergalerie des Berliner Schlosses präsentiert und 1763 von dort in die neu erbaute Bildergalerie von Sansouci nach Potsdam übernommen.
