Un gigante, avendo fallito nel suo tentativo di raggiungere Olympus, si ferisce verso la terra, per essere schiacciato dalle stesse pietre con le quali aveva intenzione di rovesciare Giove. Nella parte inferiore sinistra sono piccole figure di un satiro e capre, dando un senso drammatico di scala. Il titano inciampante è stato scolpito con drammatico ritardo: una tecnica di prospettiva distorta che raffigura un oggetto più breve di quanto sarebbe in realtà, per creare l'illusione di esso recedendo o avvicinandosi rapidamente. Secondo sua figlia Lavinia, Le banche hanno detto che “ha concepito il soggetto ad esistere nel blocco del marmo, a priori, e che è stato chiamato dalla mano degli scultori”. Lavinia stessa, tuttavia, credeva che fosse probabilmente basata sugli schizzi che Banks aveva fatto con Henry Fuseli a Roma alcuni anni prima.
