Falls of the Kaaterskill (1826) è olio su tela dipinto dal fondatore della Hudson River School e artista americano Thomas Cole. Nato in Inghilterra, Thomas Cole emigrò nell'allora colonia britannica del Nord America quando aveva 17 anni e prese una carriera come pittore, specializzandosi in paesaggi e ritratti. Dal 1825 visse a New York, dove acquisì presto una reputazione di pittore del paesaggio, in particolare dopo un viaggio lungo il fiume Hudson, che si impegnò a dipingere in una serie di tele. Questo è stato l'inizio della Hudson River School che Cole ha fondato e che ha attirato altri artisti come Durand e Chiesa, che ha lavorato in uno stile simile. La generazione di Cole iniziò uno stile di pittura veramente americano, che si sviluppò per la prima volta nel XIX secolo e che si concentrò sul paesaggio, la pittura di genere e la vita. Il dipinto (109 x 92 cm) è ora nella collezione privata.
