Eliza Falconer Bradish (1795-1865) nació de Margaretta y James Bradish de Nueva York. Se casó con el mayor John Biddle (véase 24.115.1) en 1819. Tenían una hija y cuatro hijos. Un registro guardado por Sully registra que este retrato fue pintado en 1821. El tamiz se muestra en una pose elegantemente informal desgastada por la elegancia de su vestido de terciopelo y el boa de piel. Aunque el retrato se corresponde en tamaño con el del Sr. Biddle, su esquema de color y composición no son complementarios, por lo que es poco probable que el trabajo fue destinado como colgante para Sully's 1818 retrato de su marido.
