Come implica il titolo, The Double Dream of Spring include due scene separate. Sul lato sinistro del dipinto, c'è una statua, come si vede da dietro. Sulla destra della scena, è una vista dall'alto, guardando giù in un paesaggio. Sopra il paesaggio scava la grande testa rossa del manichino di un sarto, galleggiante sopra la vista come un pallone ad aria calda. La scena è tagliata a metà da un grande fascio di legno, in fondo al quale si trova un disegno del progetto di una scena interna. La grande testa gommosa è un elemento ricorrente in molti dipinti di De Chirico.
