Un magnífico trabajo de madurez temprana de Titian, este es sin duda uno de sus mayores retratos. La media figura en la vista de tres cuartos se muestra junto a una ventana abierta en un paisaje distante cuyas armonías de alto nivel contrastan con los tonos bajos del interior en primer plano. La figura estilísticamente similar al retrato de Titian de Francesco Maria della Rovere, que ahora está en los Uffizi.
