Un cortese di alto rango (oiran), accompagnato dal suo apprendista adolescente (shinzō) e due assistenti per bambini (kamuro), passeggiata sotto un salice pianto in primavera. Mentre l'identità dell'artista che si firma “Unchō” deve ancora essere determinata, possiamo presumere che abbia ricevuto il suo nome d'arte dall'artista ukiyo-e Katsukawa Shunchō. I due scrittori della poesia sopra, Kyōden e Bakin, sono tra i più grandi scrittori popolari del giorno. Hanno entrambi aggiunto frasi poetiche cinesi e giapponesi che si riferiscono ai quartieri di piacere di Yoshiwara. Kyōden usa metafore di alberi di salice e fiori; Bakin cita un poema cinese e poi ama un cortigiano a un bodhisattava di Kannon mille braccia al servizio degli uomini.
