Questo mazzo di porcellana fu inviato nella primavera 1749 da Maria Josepha (1731-1767), consorte di Luigi (1729-1765), erede al trono francese e figlio di Luigi XV, a suo padre, l'Elettore di Sassonia e re di Polonia, il III agosto, presumibilmente con l'intenzione di fare l'alta qualità artistica della manifattura a Vincennes, a est di Parigi, conosciuta in Sassonia.
