Fall of Leaves (Chûte de feuillus), or Falling Autumn Leaves. is a pair of paintings (in French pendants, i. e. counterparts) by Van Gogh. Executed in late October 1888, depicts autumnal scenes of people walking through the allee of Alyscamps, an ancient Roman necropolis in Arles which is lined with poplars and stone sarcophagi. In his first pair of studies done at the spot (d'après nature) Van Gogh placed his easel in the midst of the Roman street.
