Pacettis terracotta, vertreten Achilles und Penthesilea, gewann 1773 den Concorso Balestra-Preis. Das Thema des Wettbewerbs, das von Anton Raphael Mengs organisiert wurde, war der Tod von Penthesilea. Der Künstler hat die Gruppe auf eine dramatische felsige Basis gesetzt, die Pathos der Protagonisten, die durch die Diagonale des Arms von Achilles akzentuiert wurden, während er kämpft, um den lebenslosen Körper von Penthesilea zu halten, und durch den Mantel des Helden, der noch mit Wind geschwollen, die Anklänge der Schlacht endete gerade
