Questa immagine esemplifica il piccolo, gioiello-come Begegnungsbilder di Kobell, o "immagini degli investitori", che raffigurano incontri tra contadini, cavalieri montati, o gentry, di solito in luoghi scenici nella regione sud-orientale della Germania di Baviera. Qui, un cacciatore e il suo cane (un Riesenbracke) appaiono accanto a un bambino e una giovane contadina che indossa il costume tradizionale della regione intorno a Monaco. Dietro di loro c’è una vista mozzafiato sulle rive del fiume Isar verso lo skyline della città. Kobell ha fatto un compagno di pittura a questo, ora nel Cleveland Museum of Art.
