Un tavolo con ostriche, un limone e una birra invita lo spettatore ad associare piacere visivo e culinario. Ma uno sguardo più vicino rivela vetro rotto e un cono di carta (intenzionato a tenere spezie) strappato da un almanaco, entrambi i promemoria dei nostri giorni rapidamente di passaggio. Heda ha fatto un nome per se stesso come artista realizzando una varietà di effetti pittorici, come l'illusione di argento lucido, ostriche scintillanti e vetro riflettente, mentre lavorava quasi esclusivamente in tonalità di grigio.
