Il discepolo polacco di Gauguin Slewinski si trasferì da Pont-Aven a Le Pouldu e poi a Doelan tra il 1889 e il 1916. Questa vita ancora nello stile di Paul Gauguin testimonia l'influenza del maestro. Le aree piane e monocolore fortemente delineate, la prospettiva degli occhi degli uccelli e le forme semplificate evocano chiaramente l’estetica Pont-Aven in questo dipinto dedicato a Marie Schewtzoff.
