Yrsselius war ursprünglich eine Sepultschraltablette, begleitet von einem Epitaph, der heute nicht überlebt. Die Tablette wurde ursprünglich vom Grab des Abts in der Kirche der Abtei St.Michael platziert. Ein paar Jahre vor seinem Tod gab der Abt der Kirche ein Altarbild für den hohen Altar, mit einem Rubens Gemälde der Anbetung der Magi.
