Kaiser Karl V ist in der prächtigen Rüstung aus Augsburg gezeigt, die er in der Schlacht von Mühlberg trug. Am unteren rechten Ende befindet sich das entsprechende nahe Helm mit rotem Pflaumen. Rot war die Farbe des burgundischen Standards. Karl trug diese Farbe bei der Schlacht von Mühlberg. Der Baton identifiziert ihn als Kommandant. Auf seiner Brust trägt er den kaiserlichen Orden des Goldenen Vlieses.
